Bringing Support Closer to Communities

At Douglas Skills Trust, we believe that opportunities should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their circumstances or where they live.

Our Community Outreach Programmes extend the work of the Douglas Employment & Skills Hub by taking support into local communities and creating additional points of engagement for individuals who may face barriers accessing traditional services.

Through partnerships with community organisations, local venues and referral partners, we aim to create welcoming spaces where people can access guidance, support and opportunities for progression.

Reaching People Across Our Communities

Our outreach approach is designed to engage individuals who may benefit from additional support, including:

  • Young people aged 16–25.

  • Individuals who are not in education, employment or training (NEET).

  • Care leavers.

  • Unemployed and economically inactive adults.

  • People experiencing barriers to education, training or employment.

Effective Communication

  • Voluntary and community organisations.

  • Support services.

By working collaboratively, we can reach individuals who may not otherwise engage with support services and create stronger pathways into opportunities.

Future Outreach Development

As Douglas Skills Trust grows, we aim to develop outreach provision across West Northamptonshire, including partnerships with community venues that allow us to bring support closer to where people live.

Our aim is to create a connected network of support that helps individuals build confidence, access opportunities and take positive steps towards their future.
