BUILDING SKILLS = TRANSFORMING LIVES
DOUGLAS skills trust
Real Support. Real Skills. Real Change
Welcome to Douglas Skills Trust, a Northamptonshire based charity dedicated to helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence and create pathways into education, training and employment.
We support individuals who may face challenges accessing opportunities, including young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), care leavers, unemployed and economically inactive adults, and those who need additional support to achieve their goals.
Through personalised mentoring, employability support, skills development, wellbeing support and partnership working, we help individuals develop the confidence, knowledge and practical skills needed to progress towards a positive future.
Douglas Employment & Skills Hub – Coming Soon
We are currently launching the Douglas Employment & Skills Hub from our newly secured town-centre premises in Northampton.
The Hub will provide a safe, welcoming and accessible environment where individuals can access:
One-to-one mentoring and personalised support.
Careers guidance and progression planning.
CV development and interview preparation.
Job search support.
Digital skills development.
Employability workshops.
Wellbeing and confidence-building support.
Employer engagement and links to opportunities.
Our aim is to create a trusted community space where people can receive the right support at the right time, helping them move towards education, training, apprenticeships and sustainable employment.
Supporting Education, Skills and Progression
Douglas Skills Trust works alongside schools, colleges, training providers, employers and community organisations to provide additional support for individuals who may be at risk of disengaging from education or employment.
By providing early intervention, mentoring and personalised support, we aim to help improve confidence, increase retention and create stronger pathways into future opportunities.
Our Future Vision
As Douglas Skills Trust grows, we will expand our delivery through community outreach programmes, practical skills development and future vocational training opportunities.
This will include supporting individuals to explore career pathways, including opportunities within the construction and built environment sectors, while developing initiatives such as Young Women in Construction and Douglas Reclaim.
At Douglas Skills Trust, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence and create a future filled with purpose and possibility.
Real Support. Real Skills. Real Change.
TOGETHER WE BUILD STRONGER COMMUNITIES
